You Might Know Us...

We live in an older home and most of the rooms do not have overhead lighting. This makes choosing the right lighting crucial for function, in addition to it simply being beautiful.

We’re Erin & Matt

It is no surprise that I like to mix things up around here. One thing however that I never changed out, one that took me FOREVER to pull the trigger on, was our family room media console. The Audrey Sideboard by ZinHome changed that however; and is our perfect sideboard. A stunning modern, coastal pick for our space. It was so worth the wait.

Prior to this Audrey sideboard by ZinHome we had been using a DIY craigslist find that was once a tacky brown veneer we’d painted over in two tone green and white. It was a great little piece and for $40 bucks and some elbow grease did the job. After nearly two years of use however the paint was peeling horribly, the doors no longer operated and we needed a better option. (seen below when first painted)

I searched and searched for months and could not find the just right replacement. They were all too dark, too bulky, too traditional, too modern… and then I finally found what I thought was the perfect fit. Sadly once in the room I realized the wood tone was too golden for the space compared to the other woods in the room. Thankfully I realized that this sideboard looked amazing in the dining room, so it was not a loss but did send me back on the hunt for our perfect media console. (seen below, gorgeous but not the right tone)

Then I found The Audrey sideboard from ZinHome and it was love at first sight. I was so nervous after ordering that I would end up having the same wood tone dilemma with this piece as the last, but very optimistic this one would work… and work it did!! I almost cried when I saw how perfect it was for our needs. Finding the just right weathered coastal piece that still complimented our modern and minimal aesthetic had proven next to impossible. The Audrey sideboard from ZinHome came into my life and changed that. I’m in love.

This piece can of course function as a sideboard in your dining room we just opted to utilize as a media console instead. For us it works so well as a media console is because of the rattan doors. The rattan is thick and substantial enough to hide the components from view. Yet still possesses enough gapping between the weave that you can keep the doors closed and operate all the tech with a remote. WIN. Especially for us with tiny curious kiddo hands roaming around the house.

Overall this is just a great piece that could live harmoniously among many designs styles. From modern, to coastal, eclectic, or minimal even in a more traditional home. It has so many elements that lend itself to so many styles. The clean lines, the texture of the rattan, the weathered finish down to the sleek black legs. It’s just a stunning piece that we adore and are thrilled to have in our space.
