I had the opportunity to work with AllModern to create a retreat for our guests to come stay and forget about their day to day lives. A place to just unwind and enjoy their weekend in our beach house. The goal was to create a neutral and calming environment and I think we nailed it.
The room was anything but relaxing before. A bed frame that squeaked, curtains that let the sunshine in far too early for a vacay appropriate slumber and mismatched side tables. Not exactly a care free retreat to inspire those Summer time good vibes. But now it is all kinds of chill worthy.
Now the space has large 3 Drawer Descartes bedside tables that provide space for stowing away their belongings, equipped with a pull out hard surface, the perfect spot to set down their mojito night cap. The cool Status Arch lamp in the corner provides the perfect mood light after the sun sets.
The Sandy Linen Upholstered Headboard was chosen to give off those lux hotel vibes and a plush Wool Moroccan Pom Pom Blanket paired with it to conjure up the feeling of an exotic getaway. Low profile Poppy Banded Baskets at the beds footrest are the perfect spot to store some stylish Turkish towels for beaching or bathing, and a Nomad 78″ Wooden Ladder is leaning nearby for them to throw their beach towel or robe on at the end of the day.
A light weave neutral Hopkins Hand Woven rug anchors the space without feeling heavy or weighted. Remember we live in a beach town and we want our guests to feel those light airy vibes from their head to their feet.
An oversized Hub Round Mirror is the perfect place for them to check their reflection before heading out to enjoy the sites; and the cool modern Woodbury Narrow Console Table is the ideal spot to stash their sunscreen and keys. A sweet little seat in the Athis Side Chair offers them a place to plop down and slide on their shoes.
The goal was to create serene retreat for our guests to come and take a load off. Drop their bags and their worries at the threshold and have a break from reality. Thanks to AllModern I think we pulled it off.
