As you know we are making over our daughter Tallula’s room, we are going to “Tallulify it” as we like to say! Her primary concern is that I won’t make it bold enough for her. She is a COLOR queen. So she wants bright, playful, colorful and bold paint. As a saturated and muted paint tone girly myself, this is indeed a challenge. Making sure I select the perfect (Tallula approved) pinks, oranges, blues and greens means I needed a LOT of paint samples.
As you also know we just made over our garage, completely revamping the storage and function. In doing so we had to come to terms with our realistic storage capabilities and our need to eliminate a lot of excess. I cannot tell you the number of tiny paint samples jars we had taking up space! In an effort to not refill the newly organized paint cupboard with more jars, I went to Samplize. I was able to get SO many samples to review with Tallula and then store them flat in the paint cupboard, taking up practically no space at all. Honestly a game changer, why have I not done this sooner!?!
The other added bonus to going the Samplize route is the fact that the samples ship overnight, are massive, and give you a large scale, sticky back, reusable, movable swatch to try in the space. I could see the paint colors in different angles and different lighting without having to paint a dozen swatches on the wall. I’ll say it again- game changer. Now I am not saying we will actually paint all of these colors, maybe we will… but they may just be a jumping off point for textiles and art selection. At present I’m leaning toward Reseda Green for her cabinetry, built in snug and bookshelf, Haute Pink for the back wall of her bookshelves and for the millworker in the bedroom. I know this room is going to be A LOT but I also know it will be SO HER and that’s what matters. I want to feel seen, safe and joyful in her sanctuary space.
