We recently updated our master bedroom with delicious bedding from The Company Store and are madly in love (see that makeover HERE). We decided that we wanted to give our guests the same feeling of luxury and comfort in the bedding for their Summer stays with us. Which is why we created a Summer retreat for our guests with The Company Store. Only problem is now they may never want to leave.
The guest room is not particularly large so I knew I wanted to keep a light and airy palette. I didn’t want it to feel too moody or closed in. Our guests are visiting us at the beach after all and the space should feel a little coastal and refreshing. Which is why I chose a light and textural linens in a neutral palette of- Parchment & Shall, an Egyptian cotton blanket in Nougat and an Alpaca throw in Sand.
We also incorporated new pillows and duvet inserts for the space because the pillows and duvet inserts we got from The Company Store for our own room are so incredibly comfortable. My husband says- “They feel like hotel bedding in the very best way; like a super high end hotel you don’t ever want to leave”. It is so true. We cannot wait to dive into bed and now our guests can feel that same comfort.
We paired the new soft palette with some warm and neutral pieces to create a well designed space but one that does not feel overly personal so our guests do not feel like they are in someone else’s room, and rather make themselves at home. The room before was pretty but was high contrast with black and white bedding and modern asymmetrical artwork (see that HERE). We went a totally different direction with a more traditional approach this time, to really mix it up from last Summer and let the amazing bedding shine.
We love the space and quite frankly are a little jealous of our guests now. We could not have made such cozy retreat for our guests without the help of The Company Store!
